When you find yourself suffering with chronic neck pain, back pain, shoulder pain. knee pain, or headaches, you might head to your primary care doctor or turn to over the counter pain management. And while you may gain insight into your suffering or even relieve some of your pain, it is our experience that only chiropractic can get at the root causes of symptoms and deliver long term, non-drug relief of your symptoms.
What do we do at Ritchie Chiropractic?
It’s often hard to define chiropractic, and what we do for our patients. That’s because it’s more than just working on a patient’s neck or spine in order to relieve pain.
As chiropractic patient educator Bill Esteb states, “The intent of chiropractic is to revive a person’s ability to self-heal.” Chiropractic, specifically chiropractic biophysics that we practice at Richie Chiropractic, is a holistic service that explores a patient’s nervous system and spine health in order to relieve pain.
We’re 1 in 10
Ritchie Chiropractic has been in business since 1985, Carroll County’s longest running chiropractic office. Whether it’s episodic, corrective, or preventative care, we are one of the oldest practices in the area with experience in all kinds of care. We are Doctors of Chiropractic that practice chiropractic biophysics– a holistic form of chiropractic that focuses on spine and postural health so that we can address a myriad of issues a patient might be experiencing.
This form of chiropractic, practiced by only 1 in 10 chiropractors, is the best way to give our patients the help they need, in our opinion. As chiropractors that practice chiropractic biophysics, we use ideal and average ranges for the different angles of spinal curvature, derived through years of research, to guide our patients to optimal health. Using our in-house X-ray imaging and a treatment plan, our patient goals are:
- normal front and side view posture,
- normal spinal alignment,
- normal function (including range and quality of motion and muscle strength),
- health and symptom improvements.
“Normal” refers to the average range of angles made by spine segments as designated ideal or optimal for spine and overall health by chiropractic biophysics. Through this technique, we not only address symptoms such as chronic pain, headaches, neck pain, and back pain, but also attempt to give our patients lasting improvements to their spine health.
We often see patients who suffer from:
- headaches or migraines,
- ear infection symptoms,
- neck, shoulders, arm, or hand pain,
- mid-back or low-back pain,
- sciatica,
- hip, leg, knee, or foot pain,
whiplash or other auto accident-related injuries.
Patients also utilize chiropractic for general health and well-being reasons, such as occasional or routine back or neck adjustments. We are thrilled to share chiropractic with new patients, young and old, because we know the health benefits it provides for our patients.
Other services
We also work with our patients on clinical nutrition to balance the nervous system, providing supplements and other holistic remedies. In December 2019, we began providing nutritional response testing which allows us to offer treatment plans to balance the autonomic nervous system. The hour-long test checks sixty points on the body, from brain to toe, assessing reflex responses.
We believe that overall health is completely intertwined with nervous system and spine health, so we offer a holistic approach with one of the most ground-breaking forms of chiropractic: chiropractic biophysics.
